You can directly upload an archive file (e.g., .war file for Web apps and .zip file for Jaggery apps) to create an application. You do this in order to continue using your own repositories and build tools to build your applications externally, and use the App Factory only for selected SCM/ALM activities. When you create applications this way, you do not get the repository and build options in the console. Also make sure your application does not bundle with log4j jar as it leads to file permission issues due to security manager. The console allows you to do the following:

  • Host and launch your applications
  • Make applications available for production
  • Manage changes by uploading new versions of the archive file

Let's see how to create an application by uploading an archive file.
