Users can import policies from user's local file system or from a given URL. The policy file will be added to the location where all the policies are stored.
Adding a policy
Follow the instructions below to add a new policy to the Governance Registry.
- Sign in. Enter your user name and password to log on to the Management Console.
- Click the Main button to access the Metadata menu. From the left navigation menu, under Add, in the Metadata menu, select Policy.
Select whether to import the policy from a URL or upload it from a file. If importing from URL was selected, specify the URL of the policy, its name and version.
If uploading from file was selected, you can upload a single policy file or a ZIP file (in .zip or .gar extension). See Creating a Governance Archive. Use the Browse button to upload a file.
The name of a policy will be added automatically.
- Click on the Add button.
To update an existing policy, either delete and add it again or use the Resource Browser.
- All the added policies can be viewed under List > Policies.
Information such as Policy Name, Policy Version, Life Cycle Status and Actions are displayed about policies.
When filtering the data using more than one value in the search field, use comma separated values with quotation marks to distinguish the values. E.g., if there are two entries with the words Connector and Resource, the search string would be: "Connector", "Resource".
- A policy can be selected by the name of the policy.
