When a system has a large number of instances, it is not practical for a user to log into each instance to view the respective log files. Therefore, WSO2 Private PaaS and the cartridges have been configured to publish all the logs to a single location and thereafter this information is published to WSO2 Business Activity Monitor (BAM). The log summarizer in BAM rotates the logs at the end of each day and archives them to a file in a Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). Users can easily view these logs via the Dashboard in the Stratos Manager Console. The Dashboard gets the logs using the
LogViever API provided with Stratos Manager. The current day’s logs are taken from Cassandra; while, the past logs can be downloaded as files.
