  1. Download WSO2 Identity Server 5.0.0 and extract it to a desired location. 
  2. Download WSO2-IS-5.0.0-SP01.zip from the same download location and extract it. 
  3. Copy the WSO2-IS-5.0.0-SP01 directory to the same location where you have WSO2 Identity Server 5.0.0. Thus the directory structure, from the parent directory will look like following.

    From this point onwards, <IS_HOME> is used to refer to wso2is-5.0.0 and <SP_HOME> is used to refer to WSO2-IS-5.0.0-SP01.

  4. In the command line, navigate to the 'WSO2-IS-5.0.0-SP01' directory or the <SP_HOME> and run the following command.
    • On Linux/Unix: $ sh install_sp.sh
    • On Microsoft Windows: \> install_sp.bat
  5. Now navigate to the bin folder in the 'wso2is-5.0.0' directory or <IS_HOME> directory and start the Identity Server using one of the following commands.
    • On Linux/Unix: $ sh wso2server.sh -Dsetup
    • On Microsoft Windows: \> wso2server.bat -Dsetup
  6. Open the <IS_HOME>/repository/logs/patches.log file and look for the following line. If you find it, that means the service pack has been applied successfully.
